What happens after you submit

A human operator works your case. Here is the realistic play-by-play.

No black box: you hear from us at every stage, and every update says which desk we contacted and what they said.

  1. Minute 0

    You submit and pay US$30

A Stripe receipt is sent to your email right away, and your case file is routed to a human operator.

  2. Same day or next business day

Case review during Japan business hours

An operator who can work across English, Japanese, Cantonese, and Mandarin reviews your details, identifies the most likely stations, taxi companies, hotels, police desks, or airport counters, and plans the call list. If a key detail is missing, we message you first on LINE, WhatsApp, or email.

  3. Day 1–2

    First calls in Japanese

We call the likely facilities during their business hours, usually around 9:00–18:00 JST. We describe the item the way Japanese lost-and-found desks expect and log every answer. You receive an update after the first meaningful search round.

  4. Days 2–4

    Follow-ups and transfers

Lost items often move from a local desk to a central lost-and-found office, airport counter, taxi company office, or police station. This can take a few business days. We re-call on the right schedule, follow transfer instructions, and update you whenever there is a real development.

  5. If found

    Recovery plan

We confirm the item and the facility's release rules: in-person pickup, proxy pickup, domestic shipping, or international forwarding if allowed. Then we explain your options, timing, and costs. You pay the remainder only after the item is confirmed.

  6. Days 4–10

Release and pickup or domestic dispatch

Release timing depends on the facility. Some can ship domestically by courier within 1–2 business days after confirmation; others require forms, ID checks, payment handling, or proxy pickup. Once release is approved, we arrange pickup or domestic forwarding as quickly as the facility allows.

  7. Days 5–12

    Arrival at our Japan address

If the item is sent to our Japan address, domestic delivery usually takes 1–3 business days after dispatch. We confirm arrival and send photos of the item once received.

  8. Days 6–14

    Inspection and international dispatch

Within 1 business day of arrival, we verify the contents with you, check shipping rules for restricted items such as batteries, liquids, medicine, cards, IDs, or cash, repack the item, and hand it to EMS, DHL, or another suitable international carrier. Your tracking number is sent after dispatch.

  9. Days 10–21

    International transit and delivery

International delivery usually takes 3–7 days to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, or 5–10 days to the US and Europe after dispatch. Customs checks, restricted items, holidays, or carrier delays can add time. We monitor the tracking until it shows delivered.

  10. If not found

    Honest close

You receive the full list of who we contacted and what each desk said, plus advice for registering with the official police lost-property system where relevant. You never pay the remainder.

Do you guarantee recovery? +

No recovery guarantee. We can call and coordinate with the right facilities, but the item may not have been found, may have been transferred, or may not be releasable.

When do I pay? +

Search Service is US$150 total if found: US$30 today, then US$120 after the item is found. Full Service is US$400 total if found: US$30 today, then US$370 after the item is found. Pickup & Delivery starts at US$300, with delivery handling quoted separately.
