Type or paste any Japanese phone number β restaurants, hotels, hospitals, government lines. A Japanese number is built in and the international call is placed for you β no Japan SIM, no roaming, and no Japanese number of your own.

Native Call sits between the two phones. Your English (or Mandarin or Cantonese) is converted to natural-sounding Japanese in under a second, and their Japanese comes back to you in your own language the same way.

Common questions
How is this different from Pocketalk or a hardware translator? +
Pocketalk is an in-person device β you both stand in the same room, take turns talking into the same hardware. It can't make phone calls. Native Call is built specifically for phone calls: you call them, they answer their normal phone, and the audio passes through translation on both sides. No device to carry, no "can I borrow your translator" awkwardness.
What about Google Translate's Conversation mode? +
Same limitation as Pocketalk β it's designed for two people sharing one device, not for two people on a phone call. Try translating a phone call with it and you'll spend the call holding your phone speakerphone-up and shouting through your friend's microphone. Native Call sits in the network path between the two phones instead.
What languages? +
You can speak English, Mandarin (Traditional or Simplified), or Cantonese. The other side hears Japanese. Their reply comes back in your language. Bidirectional, real-time, around one-second latency.
Will the call quality drop because of translation? +
The voice on each end is the natural one (the original speaker plus a high-quality TTS for the translation), not a robotic readback. Latency adds about 1 second per turn β like talking to someone who pauses to think before responding. After a minute or two it feels normal.
Does it work for short Japanese? Like just "hai" or "moshi moshi"? +
Yes. The pipeline handles single-word turns and back-channel responses correctly. Doesn't pause waiting for a longer sentence.
Where is the audio processed? +
Translation runs on our infrastructure β multi-region Cloudflare Workers + speech models. Calls aren't recorded by default. The transcript stays in your app for your reference; it's not used to train models.
